Visiting?

Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What’s here for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions surface. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Heritage  will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”!

  1. Finding Heritage
We are located at 2040 Martinsburg Pike (Route 11) in Winchester, Virginia.  From I-81, take Exit 317 and head north on Route 11.  We are about 1/4 mile on the right after you pass the Rutherford Commons Shopping Center (Target, Lowes, Chick-Fil-A). You can also find an interactive map on our contact page.  A Parking lot greeter will help you find a place to park and direct you into our building.  The greeter can also answer any other questions you might have.
  2. Finding Nurseries, Classes, and Services
All of our classes and services are provided under one roof.  We will help you find the nursery and direct you to the different classes that are available.
  3. What’s here for my kids?
Our ministry has great plans for our kids ministry program.  Our goal is to have something special for every age child from birth through college! Currently, at every service there is a safe, clean, and well staffed nursery for children three years old and under.

During our morning worship service children ages 5-12 can enjoy our “Super Church” program.

  4. What’s the morning schedule?
At 10:30 AM we gather for an exciting and challenging worship service.  A Children’s church is available for children in third grade and below, and “Super Church” is available to kids between 5 and 12.
  5. What’s on the schedule for adults, and what should I expect?
In our Worship Service, adults have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music, followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Chad. This service is a little over one hour in length.
  6. How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Heritage Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Heritage Baptist! Come as you are!
  7. Are there services at other times?
Yes! We have a Sunday evening service (completely different from Sunday morning) that begins at 5:30 p.m. Again, in this service you’ll enjoy special music as well as a challenging and helpful message from Pastor Wilham.  If you can’t be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you’ll visit with us during another service time.
  8. Am I expected to participate in the offering?
Nope. We don’t invite you to Heritage for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

If there’s something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Heritage will be awesome! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto campus! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
